CORRUGATED STEEL PLATE BRIDGES

Innovative construction methods need to be practiced to produce a quality product which meets capital cost, lifecycle and operational cost, and time expectation as well as client satisfaction requirements. A possible system is also required for fast construction of culverts and underpasses which are normally time-consuming portions in highway construction. In order to minimize the construction time and have better connectivity, a new technology an ecological alternative could be to use “Corrugated Steel Plate Structures” (“CSP”) that work on innovative approach also known as soil steel composite structure.

Multiple Steel Plates (Corrugated Steel Plates) are assembled together onsite to form steel arch and with soil cover able to support any type of loading made of virgin steel plate without welding. The steel plates are galvanized after corrugating, punching and bending process. This plates are easily constructed by assembling plates with bolts and nuts. It can be constructed without hindering traffics onsite. Environmental friendly –Recyclable when the structure is dismantled after a service life.

The technology is of an international standard and is widely used in places like South Korea, Canada, USA and Europe.
